Q. When will consumers be able to buy gift cards through Card Tent?

A. Our consumer platform will go live in the Fall of 2021. In the meantime, our PAY and REWARD modules are open for business to corporate customers.

PAY

Q. Can consumers make payments via your service?

A. No. Our PAY service may only be used by companies to make payments to affiliated parties (ie: employees, agents, vendors, customers, etc.)

Q. Can you make a payment to anyone, anywhere, in any currency?

A. With a few exceptions, yes. Bank transfers can be made to 180 countries and in 120 currencies. eWallet funds can be held in 35 currencies.

Q. Are payments to certain countries restricted?

A. US banking laws restrict payments to certain countries. The following countries are currently on the restricted list:

Prohibited Regions –Under no circumstances will transactions be allowed.

Q. How much does is cost to pay a recipient?

A. Payroll Programs*
• Pay a transaction fee of $2.95 plus 2.5% when you set up or load an eWallet
• Receive a transaction discount based upon volume as follows: > 100 = $0.50, > 500 = $1.00, >1000 = $1.50
• Receive a total value discount based on the following dollar volumes: >$500,000 = 0.25%, >$1,500,000 = 0.5%, >$2,500,000 = 0.75%

*To qualify as a payroll program, client must submit a file at least once a month to the same recipients.

Other Programs
• Pay a transaction fee of $3.95 plus 5% when you set up or load an eWallet
• Receive a transaction discount based upon volume as follows: > 100 = $0.50, > 500 = $1.00, >1000 = $1.50
• Receive a total value discount based on the following dollar volumes: >$100,000 = 0.5%, >$250,000 = 1.00%, >$500,000 = 1.5%

Q. Is the recipient charged any fees for using the eWallet?

A. Currency exchange rates do apply, and for some countries, there is a wire transfer fee. A fee is applied should the recipient choose to upgrade their virtual prepaid card to a physical card. Additional fees with Western Union or for use of the re-loadable Visa card may apply.

Q. Do you share breakage with the client?

A. For non-payroll compensation, yes, there is an opportunity to receive a breakage credit. On such programs, Card Tent will send your recipients an award notification by email with an invitation link that expires in 90 days. Upon expiration, Card Tent will provide you with provide a report with the awards have been claimed. You will receive a credit for any breakage amount over 20%. This credit will be applied to your account and must be used within 180 days.

For payroll programs, beneficiary accounts are directly funded and there is no breakage.

Q. How do you handle dormant accounts?

A. Neither Card Tent or the third parties that Card Tent works with have a financial interest in a beneficiary account that has been funded. Dormant accounts are subject to the banking laws of the jurisdiction in which the recipient is domiciled. Generally, that means that funds escheat to the government after a period of inactivity. Please consult your local banking laws for information.

REWARD

Q. Is the REWARD program for US or global recipients?

A. The REWARD module is set up for US recipients. If you need to reward recipients globally, please select the PAY module. You’ll receive the same benefits of our REWARD program, but with options tailored for global recipients and the compliance procedures set in place to support it.

Q. Are there any fees with your reward program?

A. No. You pay only the face value of the awards.

Q. Are digital cards available for immediate download after being selected by the recipient?

A. Yes. With few exceptions, digital cards may be downloaded immediately. In rare circumstances where an item is temporarily out-of-stock, a recipient may need to try the download link again at a later time.

Q. Are all of your cards digital, or can recipients receive a physical card in the mail?

A. All of the merchant gift cards are digital. If a recipient selects a virtual Visa card, they are given the opportunity to upgrade –for a fee, to a physical card that is delivered by mail.
